Filipe Maia Alexandre

Filipe joined VdA in 2017. He is an Associate in the Banking & Finance area of practice, being actively involved in several transactions in the international and domestic markets, in particular, securitisation transactions, covered bonds issues, asset portfolio financings and other asset-backed transactions.

He has also been actively involved in multiple transactions regarding the issue and placement of classic debt and equity instruments, regulatory capital instruments and other structured finance products, as well as traditional financing and factoring transactions.

In 2018 he was stationed as a secondee with an investment funds management company, providing on-going assistance in the context of its acquisition by an investment consultant with a portfolio worth more than USD 10bn, as well as in regard of other contractual, regulatory and compliance matters.

In 2020 he is currently stationed as a secondee with one of the Portuguese largest private banks, providing on-going contractual and regulatory assistance to the bank’s financial derivatives department.

Distinction of Honour for the conclusion cum laude of the LL.M. by the Tilburg University.

Degree in Law by the Oporto School of the Faculty of Law of the Portuguese Catholic University.

Master of Laws (LL.M.) in International Business Law by the Tilburg University, The Netherlands.

Master’s Degree in Law and Management by the Oporto School of the Faculty of Law of the Portuguese Catholic University

Prior to joining the firm, Filipe worked as a trainee in Deloitte Portugal and in the Portuguese Embassy in the Czech Republic and developed research in the field of banking law at the Faculty of Law of the Charles University, in Prague.
