António Magalhães Cardoso, VdA's senior partner responsible for Intellectual Property practice, was guest speaker at the conference held by Infarmed under the title "Development of the generics market: barriers and opportunities" in which the main economic players of the pharmaceutical industry attended.

António Magalhães Cardoso spoke at a roundtable on the topic "Law n. º 62/2011 - barrier to entry for generic drugs, yes or no?".

Recently appointed by Financial Times - Innovative Lawyers as "Innovative Individual" for his work in defense of patent rights in the pharmaceutical area, António Magalhães Cardoso stressed that the arbitration system brought by this law, despite the inconveniences that have been pointed out, has the undeniable merit of enabling rapid clarification of the legal possibility or impossibility of certain statutory release generic, which, without it, would take many years to get in the state courts.
