Marco Caldeira

Marco Caldeira joined VdA in 2014. He is managing associate at the Public Law area of practice where he has been actively involved in several transactions and worked in various matters of administrative law, especially in the areas of public procurement, administrative litigation and public regulation, supporting various public and private entities, particularly in in the banking, telecommunications, water and transport sectors.

Guest speaker at dozens of conferences, courses and training courses at Law Faculties and several other entities, in particular the Bar Association (Lisbon, Porto, Faro and Funchal Regional Councils), the Center for Judicial Studies and the Directorate General of the Qualification of Public Employees (INA).

Co-founder and member of the Executive Board of the Revista de Direito Administrativo.

Member of the Scientific Council of WhatNext.Law – Researching the Future.

Before joining the firm he worked at F. Castelo Branco & Associates as an associate lawyer (2005/2008) and as an associate (2008/2014).

Author of over six dozen scientific articles published in specialized journals and several monographs, including Emergency Administrative Law, Almedina, Coimbra, 2020 (co-authored), Pre-contractual litigation Studies, AAFDL, Lisbon, 2017, and Fundamental Questions for the application of CPA, Almedina, Coimbra, 2016 (co-authored).

Admitted to the Portuguese Bar Association.
