Fernando Resina da Silva, VdA partner in charge of a group dedicated to Emerging Technologies, was one of the jury members of the "Elevator Pitch entrepreneurship competition - IdeiasQueMarcam 2014" that took place on november 19, at the Representation of the European Commission in Portugal, contest organizer.

The Entrepreneurship contest "Elevator Pitch-- IdeiasQueMarcam" aims to provide new and potential entrepreneurs the opportunity to present a business idea to the top professional institutions that finance, assist and support the creation of new projects.

Projects fall within the themes of the Horizon 2020 - the Programme for Research and Innovation of the European Union (2014-2020). Present social and commercial approaches to topics as support for homeless, intervention in neighbourhoods and cities, commercialization of technologies and patents from universities, mobile applications and projects in the media, as well as projects in the field of life sciences.

From forty-eight teams, involving a total of one hundred thirty-one entrepreneurs, the European Commission Representation in Portugal selected 20 projects that received training and mentoring ("coaching"), in collaboration with universities, incubators and other institutions.

The winners were the Zuper Brain project, educational digital games for language development, in the category of source project and the Mater Dynamics, sensor design project for quality control of products in the category of consolidated project.
